Stop Buying From Amazon, how they cheated families and you out of billions.

Today I ask a favor, Stop Buying from Amazon.

Cellular phone accessory manufacturers, inventors, distributors, and retailers are almost all extinct. Once upon a time, people with families, entrepreneurs, and dreamers were able to supply the necessary accessories for handheld mobile phones and make a living.
Some of the greatest products we enjoy were designed and sold by hard working people that made a living doing so. Simple products like cases, sync cables, battery banks, car chargers, etc., the rise of this category was built on the backs of hard-working folks. Like me, most went from scaling a business, buying a home, caring for their children, and had a good life. Then came Amazon. To this day, tens of thousands are still suffering years after losing everything because Amazon got away with price fixing and cheating.
The three main ways Amazon killed and destroyed business are as follows:
  1. Their algorithms recognized what items were selling the best. Then they went to China and copied them, sold with the buy button, and the inventors that built that product/category had to fire all their employees and some lost everything including their homes.
  1. Amazon allowed and STILL DO, sellers to list counterfeits and cheap knockoffs of patented products. This is a fact and nobody except for Samsung knows how to STOP IT. Amazon loves sellers that list things below cost. Counterfeiters help them achieve the lowest price because they are cheaper to make. Thus, can sell below the cost of what the inventor or brand can offer the product at. Amazon claims to have zero control, they are only a sidewalk selling space for sellers to pawn off these items. If you own a brand and want to stop this unfair trade scam, then do what I was told Samsung did. Get a local Judge to issue a warrant. Then raid Amazon's distribution center, confiscate all your items, and destroy the counterfeits.
  1. Amazon sold items below the cost to make them. Their excuse, they sell at the price others list them at. For example: I received a remote control for Christmas, new in a box. I decided to sell it on my Amazon store for $5. Cost to make, $17. Distribution price, $28 (What Amazon paid for it). MSRP $39.95. Amazon then sells them for $4.99, under the lowest price. How do you expect companies like Toys ‘R’ Us to survive? Oh yeah, they didn’t.
One more reason to stop buying from Amazon, our planet needs a break. I saw a commercial of a “Happy Amazon Warehouse Worker” putting a heavy iron skillet into a box, then packing it with paper. Really? Can’t we just go down to the thrift or brick and mortar store and pick one up? The weight and cost and pollution to ship the pan to the distribution center, then to have a carrier deliver it to your home is a waste of energy and valuable resources.
Ask yourself this question; are you looking forward to leaving the planet a complete mess for future generations while they put iron skillets in boxes as the only job left? We as a people destroyed the most valuable way of life when settlers gentrified the Native Americans. For what? To follow what commercialized democracy forces us to and that is to rape, consumer, and allow Amazon to take over.
From a victim that lost everything. I cannot wait to share my story how Google PPC program stole $235,000.00 from me in 2007-2008.

Cellular Phone Accessory Distribution Trends

It is CRAZY how things have changed with cellular phone accessory distribution. In 2010 there were over 350 National and Regional cellular phone accessory distributors registered in the United States.

Today, there are less than 100. Tessco was one such large distributor that was the latest victim of consolidation and competition from online shopping direct sites from China and Amazon. Myvoicecomm.com is now the owner of Tessco's retail division according to Derek Weiss. I worked with Derek back in 2006-2008 as a wholesaler online and they handled my drop shipping program for MBAWholesale.com, a website dedicated to selling the MyBat Brand Products.

Companies that are now gone are:

Mobileline.com, Technocel, Brightpoint, TriG, Dream Wireless, MBAWholesale.com, Almax,

Below is the announcement.

City Of Industry, the Cellphone Accessory Depot

There are over 250,000,000 million cellular phone users in the United States, and those users need accessories. Within the boundaries of City of Industry of Southern California there are dozens of cellular phone accessory wholesale distributors with every type of cover, case, charger, and holster clip to outfit those 250 million handsets.

Most of these companies offer after market accessories imported from China in every shape and color imaginable (aftermarket are generic low cost and usually less expensive accessories). Companies such as Valor Communications, Dream Wireless, Emax, and EagleCell are well aware of each other and compete for the same customers. Many of their employees have gone from one company to another with some leaving to open a new company miles down the road. Some even share the same factories in China.

Each of these distributors offer a line of cases and covers, ranging from $1.00-$2.00 wholesale. You are probably familiar with their products hanging from kiosks in malls across America. Many of these accessories are sold at these kiosks or online at stores like totallycellphones.com, daydeal.com, cellphoneshop.com, Amazon.com, and eBay.com.

City of Industry may be the Capital of wholesale accessories on the West Coast. However, there are mega distributors found in equal concentration in New York, Texas, and Florida. The advantage to warehouse in City of Industry is the proximity to the Pacific Ocean. Containers of accessories are landed in the Port of Long Beach from China and trucked to these distributors, allowing them the luxury of lower overhead associated with lower shipping costs. In addition, California has the second highest concentration of cellphone users in the US City of Industry is perfectly situated for cellphone accessory distribution.

California also plays host to many other distributors of brand name quality accessories you may find in Carrier Stores, Best Buy, and other quality retail centers. Wholesale distributors of quality and brand name products are located not far from City of Industry; such as Superior, Technocel, Mobileline, Hypercel, iCella, Versiomobile, and Nu-Course to name a few. Brand Name accessories may cost more, but they are worth every penny spent.

The difference to an "After Market or Generic" brand product and a "Brand Name" product can be found in the materials, craftsmanship, design, packaging, and where they are sold. Companies such as Apple and Best Buy along with carrier stores such as Verizon, Sprint, AT&T offer only quality items that last. Most are made in China as well but the difference can be seen, felt, and weathered. In addition, these branded accessories are usually manufactured with higher quality components that will keep your phone safe.

OEM (Original equipment manufacturer) or Brand accessories are usually made from Virgin ASB Plastics as apposed to recycled plastics, require multiple molds and layers of plastics and rubbers, and come in theft proof packaging unlike the aftermarket brands sold in plastic bags. A good way to tell the difference from a cheaper case/cover from a quality brand case is to drop it, seriously. Most aftermarket covers will come apart and snap back together after your phone flops around the ground. OEM or brand cases such as Otterbox, Ballistic, and Speck will keep your smartphone or device safer and enclosed without breaking apart.

You can search online for brand products as found in your local store and save a few bucks. Amazon and eBay marketplaces usually have a great price. You can also use your smartphone to scan the UPC code or part number and search online for lower prices at stores such as versiomobile.com and daydeal.com. Just remember when you purchase your new case from a swap meet, online, or at the mall, your accessory may have been born in the City of Industry, CA.

Avoiding Amazon is Good For The Soul

I humbly request a favor from you today: please refrain from purchasing products on Amazon.

Back in the day, mobile phone accessory manufacturers, inventors, distributors, and retailers were able to make a living off of selling essential products such as cases, sync cables, battery banks, and car chargers. Entrepreneurs and dreamers could support their families while contributing to the industry. However, Amazon's entry into the market brought about the demise of many small businesses. The e-commerce giant engaged in price-fixing and unethical practices, leading to the closure of thousands of companies and leaving countless people jobless.

There are three main ways that Amazon destroyed businesses. Firstly, their algorithms tracked the best-selling items and copied them in China. These knockoffs were then sold with the buy button, causing the original inventors to lay off their employees and, in some cases, lose their homes. Secondly, Amazon allowed sellers to list counterfeit and knockoff versions of patented products, which harmed the original brand and inventor. Finally, Amazon sold items below the cost to make them, driving other companies out of business and contributing to a wasteful and harmful consumer culture.

In addition to these unethical practices, Amazon also contributes to the deterioration of our planet. The company's shipping and packaging methods are highly inefficient, and unnecessary purchases only add to the problem. We must ask ourselves if we want to leave a polluted planet for future generations, all so that we can receive an iron skillet in a box from Amazon.

As a victim who has lost everything, I implore you to take action. Let us support small businesses and sustainable practices and stand up against corporate giants who prioritize profits over people and the environment.

The below images show beach erosion in Dana Point, CA. Thanks to the Nuclear power company in San Onofre, all the coral reefs were killed off and the sand that was once held back from falling off the ocean cliffs is no longer around to hold the sand on shore.

This relates to Amazon in a similar way with the Global carbon footprint that is impacting our coral reefs.
